# Best ETH Yield

## Summary

The best ETH yield is 6.61% APY, paid in ETH by WETH Looping on Base, the highest 24-hour rate among the 28 ETH strategies tracked here as of October 24, 2026. It is a leveraged loop holding $27K; among strategies holding at least $50K, the best was 3.62% on WETH Autopilot on Base.

- The 28 ETH strategies tracked here held $9.5M between them across 3 networks, and 5 of them held at least $50K.
- The median ETH rate was 2.74% across the 5 strategies holding at least $50K, and 1.33% across all 28, of which 16 held under $1K. The average weighted by TVL was 3.26%.
- For reference outside the ranking, Lido's stETH paid 2.22% APR (about 2.25% APY with daily compounding), the average of its last 7 daily oracle reports to October 23, 2026, read from the stETH contract on Ethereum and net of Lido's fee; 4 of the 5 funded strategies paid more than that on their 24-hour rates.
- 23 of the 28 ETH strategies ran on a layer 2 network, Base or Arbitrum, including 4 of the 5 that held at least $50K.
- Base carried more ETH strategies than any other network tracked, 17 of 28, holding $9.3M, against 6 on Arbitrum holding $47K.

Every rate is the APY of a Harvest vault built on the named protocol, after Harvest's fee on harvested yield (10% on Base and Arbitrum and 15% on Ethereum mainnet). Autopilot is Harvest's own allocator. Liquid staking tokens such as stETH and rETH are not ranked.

## Ranking

## Where to earn ETH yield by network

### ETH yield on Base (layer 2)

17 strategies, $9.3M tracked. The best ETH yield on Base was 3.62% APY on WETH Autopilot as of October 24, 2026, followed by Base ETH Lending Optimizer at 3.14%, among Base strategies holding at least $50K.

- WETH Autopilot on Base: 3.62% APY, allocator, $4.6M (https://harvest.finance/weth-autopilot-base)
- Base ETH Lending Optimizer on Base: 3.14% APY, allocator, $3.5M (https://harvest.finance/eth-ipor-base-eth-lending-optimizer-base)
- ETH Clearstar Reactor V2 on Base: 2.74% APY, curated lending vault, $234K (https://harvest.finance/eth-morpho-clearstar-reactor-v2-base)

### ETH yield on Arbitrum (layer 2)

6 strategies, $47K tracked. No ETH strategy on Arbitrum held $50K or more as of October 24, 2026; the highest rate there was 2.42% on ETH Dolomite, which held $142.

### ETH yield on Ethereum (mainnet)

5 strategies, $221K tracked. The best ETH yield on Ethereum was 2.37% APY on ETH KPK Yield V2 as of October 24, 2026, among Ethereum strategies holding at least $50K.

- ETH KPK Yield V2 on Ethereum: 2.37% APY, curated lending vault, $221K (https://harvest.finance/eth-morpho-kpk-yield-v2-ethereum-2)

## Strategy types

- Allocators: 3 strategies, median 3.14%, $8.1M tracked; best funded WETH Autopilot on Base at 3.62%. A contract moves the ETH between lending venues as their rates change, so the position follows the best available rate without anyone rebalancing it by hand.
- Curated lending vaults: 12 strategies, median 1.44%, $1.4M tracked; best funded ETH Clearstar Reactor V2 on Base at 2.74%. A curator such as Gauntlet, Steakhouse or Clearstar spreads the ETH across several isolated lending markets on Morpho or Euler and sets the risk limits for each one.
- Money markets: 12 strategies, median 1.00%, $29K tracked. The ETH is lent straight into one pooled market such as Aave, Compound or Fluid, where borrowers pay a rate set by how much of the pool is in use.
- Leveraged looping: 1 strategy, median 6.61%, $27K tracked. The strategy supplies ETH, borrows ETH against it and supplies the borrowed ETH again, multiplying the gap between the supply and borrow rates.

## ETH yield versus staking

ETH staking pays validators newly issued ETH for securing Ethereum, while the ETH yield ranked on this page is interest paid by borrowers of ETH, which is a different source with a different set of risks.

Lido's stETH paid 2.22% APR (about 2.25% APY with daily compounding), the average of its last 7 daily oracle reports to October 23, 2026, read from the stETH contract on Ethereum and net of Lido's fee. On the October 24, 2026 readings, 4 of the 5 ETH strategies holding at least $50K paid more than that. stETH is a liquid staking token and is not ranked on this page; the figure is here only to answer the comparison. ## ETH yield by protocol

Among the vaults in this ETH index, grouped by the protocol they lend into, the Morpho vaults paid a median of 1.46% across 9, the Fluid vaults paid a median of 0.85% across 3 and the Euler vaults paid a median of 0.70% across 3.

- The 9 Morpho ETH vaults held $456K on Base and Ethereum and paid a median of 1.46%, within 1.02% to 2.74%.
- The 3 Fluid ETH vaults held $86 on Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base and paid a median of 0.85%, within 0.65% to 1.33%.
- The 3 Euler ETH vaults held $919K on Base and paid a median of 0.70%, within 0.65% to 2.24%.
- The 2 Autopilot ETH vaults held $4.6M on Base and Arbitrum and paid a median of 2.31%, within 1.00% to 3.62%.
- The 2 Compound V3 ETH vaults held $24K on Base and Arbitrum and paid a median of 1.24%, within 1.15% to 1.33%.
- The 2 Aave ETH vaults held $5 on Base and Arbitrum and paid a median of 1.05%, within 0.84% to 1.27%.
- The 2 ExtraFi ETH vaults held $2K on Base and paid a median of 0.34%, within 0.28% to 0.40%.
- The IPOR ETH vault held $3.5M on Base and paid 3.14%.
- The Arcadia ETH vault held $2K on Base and paid 2.85%.
- The Dolomite ETH vault held $142 on Arbitrum and paid 2.42%.
- The Venus ETH vault held $2 on Arbitrum and paid 0.27%.
- The leveraged Aave loop, WETH Looping on Base, held $27K and paid 6.61%. It is counted apart from plain Aave lending, since the rate comes from borrowing against the position.

## Risks on every ETH yield strategy

Every ETH rate on this page pays for a specific set of exposures, and six of them apply across the index: contract, layered contract, staked-ETH collateral, leverage, oracle and liquidity risk.

- **Smart-contract risk** sits on the vault and on the protocol under it, for as long as a position stays open. Euler, a venue in this index, lost [$197 million in March 2023](https://cointelegraph.com/news/defi-sees-its-biggest-hack-in-2023-as-euler-loses-197m-finance-redefined) through a function added while fixing an earlier bug.
- **Layered contract risk** grows with each wrapper. A curated vault or an allocator passes ETH through more contracts than a plain money market, and one rate pays for all of them at once.
- **Staked-ETH collateral risk** applies to ETH lending in particular. Much of the ETH borrowed on these markets is borrowed against staked or restaked ETH, and if that collateral trades below ETH faster than liquidations can keep up, lenders take the loss. The [KelpDAO exploit of April 18, 2026](https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/04/20/defi-tvl-drops-more-than-usd13-billion-in-two-days-following-kelp-dao-hack) minted rsETH with nothing behind it, which was then posted as collateral on Aave to borrow real assets, leaving bad debt estimated in April 2026 at roughly $200M to $246M.
- **Leverage risk** applies to looping alone. A loop earns the gap between the supply and borrow rates several times over, and when the borrow rate rises above the supply rate the same multiplier works against the position until it is unwound.
- **Oracle risk** sits on the price feeds that decide when a borrower gets liquidated. A feed that lags or is manipulated lets a loan go under water before the liquidation that should have protected the lender fires.
- **Liquidity risk** usually shows up first. A market keeps only its unborrowed ETH available to withdraw, so when borrowing spikes toward the limit the exit narrows for every supplier at once, until borrowers repay or the rising rate pulls new supply in.

## Questions and answers

### What is the best ETH yield right now?

6.61% APY, paid in ETH by WETH Looping on Base, as of October 24, 2026, the highest 24-hour rate among the 28 ETH strategies tracked here. It is a leveraged loop holding $27K. Among strategies holding at least $50K, the highest was 3.62% on WETH Autopilot on Base, holding $4.6M.

### Where can I earn yield on ETH on Base?

The best ETH yield on Base was 3.62% APY on WETH Autopilot as of October 24, 2026, followed by Base ETH Lending Optimizer at 3.14%, among Base strategies holding at least $50K. Base carried 17 of the 28 ETH strategies tracked here as of October 24, 2026, more than any other network, and Base transactions cost a few cents.

### Which protocols pay the highest ETH yield on an L2?

Among strategies holding at least $50K as of October 24, 2026, the highest ETH rate on a layer 2 was 3.62% on WETH Autopilot on Base, an allocator. The best funded rate on Ethereum mainnet was 2.37% on ETH KPK Yield V2 on Ethereum, so on these readings the L2 paid more as well as costing less to use.

### What can I do with wrapped ETH (WETH) on Base to earn yield?

WETH is ETH wrapped one-to-one into an ERC-20 token so that lending contracts can hold it, and every ETH strategy on Base takes it. As of October 24, 2026 there were four ways to put it to work in this index: lend it into a pooled market such as Aave or Compound, hand it to a curated Morpho or Euler vault, let an allocator such as Autopilot move it between venues, or loop it with leverage. 3 of the 28 strategies here are labelled WETH and the rest ETH, which is the same asset under a different label.

### Which ETH yield options on Base are the safest to use?

This page does not score or rank ETH strategies for safety, and no strategy on Base is free of risk: every one carries smart-contract, oracle and liquidity risk, and the risk framework covers the rest. What can be measured is size, track record, rate steadiness and strategy type, and as of October 24, 2026 the safety table lists all four for the 5 ETH strategies holding at least $50K.

### What are the best options for ETH yield with cheap gas?

Base and Arbitrum, the two layer 2 networks in this index, settle transactions for cents, while a busy Ethereum mainnet can cost dollars, which matters most on a small position where gas would eat a year of yield. The best funded ETH rate on a layer 2 was 3.62% on WETH Autopilot on Base as of October 24, 2026.

### What are the best ETH vaults for passive income?

Allocators and autocompounders need nothing done after entry: they harvest and compound on their own schedule. The best funded allocator was WETH Autopilot on Base at 3.62% APY as of October 24, 2026, holding $4.6M. Every strategy on this page autocompounds, so the rate shown already includes compounding.

### Which DeFi vaults pay the best yield on WETH?

Among the 3 strategies labelled WETH in this index, the highest rate was 6.61% on WETH Looping on Base, and the highest on a strategy holding at least $50K was 3.62% on WETH Autopilot on Base, as of October 24, 2026. The ETH-labelled strategies take the same asset, so the full ranking above is the complete answer.

### Can I earn a higher yield on ETH than regular staking?

Yes. As of October 24, 2026, WETH Autopilot on Base paid 3.62%, against about 2.25% APY for Lido's stETH, and 4 of the 5 ETH strategies holding at least $50K paid more than staking.

### Can I earn yield on ETH without lockups or a withdrawal queue?

Yes. None of the 28 strategies here is a validator position, so none waits in Ethereum's validator exit queue. A lending position can be withdrawn whenever the market underneath has unborrowed ETH to pay it out, which is nearly always and not guaranteed. When a market is fully borrowed, suppliers wait until borrowers repay or the rate pulls new supply in.

### How much can I earn on 1 ETH or 10 ETH?

At the top funded rate of 3.62% as of October 24, 2026, 1 ETH would earn about 0.0362 ETH over a year and 10 ETH about 0.362 ETH, before any rate change. At the median of 1.33%, 10 ETH would earn about 0.133 ETH. The yield is paid in ETH, so its dollar value moves with the ETH price.

### Is the APY paid in ETH or in dollars?

In ETH. Every rate on this page is earned on an ETH balance and paid in ETH, so a 3% APY means the ETH balance grows by about 3% over a year. Whether that is worth more or less in dollars depends on the ETH price, which the rate says nothing about.

### Where does ETH yield come from?

Mostly from borrowers. Traders borrow ETH to sell it short or to loop staked-ETH positions, and the interest they pay is what an ETH lender earns. Allocators and curated vaults route the same interest through a strategy, and some rates add a reward token that the strategy harvests and sells back into ETH.

### Why does leveraged ETH looping pay more?

Looping earns the supply rate on more ETH than the position started with. It supplies ETH, borrows ETH against it and supplies that again, so it earns the gap between the supply and borrow rates several times over. As of October 24, 2026, WETH Looping on Base paid 6.61% and held $27K. The same multiplier works against the position when the borrow rate rises above the supply rate.

### Why is ETH lending yield lower than stablecoin yield?

Fewer borrowers need ETH than need dollars. Most borrowing on lending markets is for stablecoins, while ETH is mostly posted as collateral, so ETH markets run at lower utilisation and pay their suppliers less. ETH rates rise when traders borrow ETH to short it or to lever up staked ETH.

### Why do ETH yields change every day?

A lending rate is set by how much of a market's ETH is borrowed, and borrowing demand for ETH moves with the market. When traders short ETH or lever up staked ETH, they borrow at once and the rate jumps; when they repay, it falls. As of October 24, 2026, 24 of the 28 ETH strategies with a month of readings had a 30-day swing under one point.

### What fees do ETH yield vaults charge?

A share of the yield, not of the deposit. The vaults on this page keep 10% on Base and Arbitrum and 15% on Ethereum mainnet of the yield each strategy harvests, and every APY shown is already after that fee. There is no fee to enter or leave a vault; gas is paid on each transaction, and the looping strategy charges an entry cost the app shows before a position opens.

### Have the ETH vault contracts been audited?

Yes. The vault contracts have been audited by Haechi Audit, PeckShield, CertiK, Least Authority and Halborn, with the reports published in full on GitHub, and the first ETH vault has run onchain since October 2020. An audit lowers contract risk without removing it, and each lending protocol underneath carries its own audits.

### Is ETH yield safe?

No ETH yield is free of risk. Every strategy here carries smart-contract risk on the vault and on the protocol under it, oracle risk on the price feeds those contracts trust, and liquidity risk when a market runs fully borrowed. Strategies that accept staked or restaked ETH as collateral add the risk that those tokens trade below ETH, which happened to rsETH in April 2026. As of October 24, 2026, 23 of the 28 strategies held under $50K, so their rates have not been tested by much liquidity.
