Largest accounts
The 500 largest funded XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026, read from ledger 107,017,319 and ranked on the XRP each one controls, a hundred to a page.
Showing 500 of 500 accounts, holding 78.05bn XRP between them, or 78.06% of all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026.
47 of the 500 ranked accounts carry a name as of September 16, 2026. All of them sit in the first hundred rows, which is as far as the naming research reaches. Not one of them publishes a domain onchain, which is the only identity an account can declare about itself.
Naming an account from how it transacts would be a guess, so this page names an account only against a source it can show.
An account is ranked on its spendable balance plus anything it holds in onchain escrow, which is why an account with a few hundred XRP spendable can sit near the top.
Dollar values use 1.2973 US dollars per XRP as of September 16, 2026, read from Flare FTSOv2 XRP/USD oracle. They move with the price and the XRP amounts beside them do not.
Share of supply is measured against all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026. The escrow column is the part of each balance locked onchain on that date rather than a figure on top of it.
Every name in the table is attributed by XRPSCAN rather than established by this page.
Distribution
An account needed at least 44,412 XRP to sit in the top 1% of funded XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026.
The top 10% starts far lower, at 2,121 XRP, and the top 50% at 20 XRP as of September 16, 2026. Most funded accounts hold very little, which is why the percentage thresholds fall away so steeply below the first percent.
The XRP rich list 2026 thresholds below are read from the same ledger walk as the ranking. A tier threshold is the smallest amount of XRP that placed an account in that percentage of all 8,138,198 funded accounts as of September 16, 2026. An account is measured on what it controls, which is its spendable balance plus anything it holds in onchain escrow.
| Percentage tier | Minimum XRP controlled | Accounts at or above | That tier alone | Cumulative share of XRP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Top 0.01% | 3.68M | 814 | 80% | 80% |
| Top 0.1% | 276,376 | 8,139 | 5.1% | 85% |
| Top 1% | 44,412 | 81,443 | 6.7% | 92% |
| Top 5% | 7,430 | 407,081 | 5.6% | 97% |
| Top 10% | 2,121 | 813,963 | 1.7% | 99.1% |
| Top 25% | 105.7 | 2,034,691 | 0.85% | 99.9% |
| Top 50% | 20 | 4,234,477 | 0.07% | over 99.9% |
Every tier in the September 16, 2026 table contains the ones above it, so the cumulative column climbs down the table rather than summing to 100%: the top 1% row counts the top 0.1% inside it. The column beside it is what each tier adds on its own, and those do sum. Thresholds are read from a histogram of every account balance, which bounds each figure at 0.1152% as of September 16, 2026. Shares are measured against all XRP in funded accounts, escrowed and spendable together.
Figures circulating for these thresholds are usually ranges compiled across several dates. Every number here is read from one validated ledger, 107,017,319, closed September 16, 2026 at 04:49 UTC, with the error on any tier bounded at 0.1152%.
Holders
8,138,198 XRP Ledger accounts were funded as of September 16, 2026, which is not the number of people who own XRP.
The account count is neither an upper nor a lower bound on the number of owners. It runs higher than the number of people holding their own XRP, because one person can open many accounts and 8,138,198 funded accounts as of September 16, 2026 say nothing about how many hands hold them. It runs lower than the number of people with XRP exposure worldwide, because the 23 exchange accounts identified in this ranking held 14.23bn XRP as of September 16, 2026 on behalf of customers who have no XRP Ledger account at all.
2,139 accounts held more than 1 million XRP as of September 16, 2026: 1,603 between 1 million and 10 million, and 536 above 10 million.
No count of the people who own XRP exists onchain. Estimates in the 18 to 25 million range that circulate as of September 16, 2026 combine ledger addresses with exchange customer counts, and neither input is verifiable from ledger data.
Shape of the ledger
Most funded XRP Ledger accounts hold very little. 85% of them held under 1,000 XRP as of September 16, 2026.
Every bar below is one balance band, and its height and the number above it are how many accounts held an amount inside that band as of September 16, 2026. The smaller figure under each band is that band’s share of all funded accounts on the same date.
All 8,138,198 funded XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026
The XRP rich list chart above draws one bar per balance band, and the figure above a bar is how many funded XRP Ledger accounts held an amount inside that band as of September 16, 2026. All 8,138,198 funded accounts sit in exactly one band each as of September 16, 2026.
Bar heights use a square-root scale as of September 16, 2026, so a band holding a few hundred accounts stays visible beside one holding three million. Reading heights against each other therefore understates the gap between them; the printed counts are the exact figures.
Band by band
The largest band by account count and the largest by XRP held are not the same band, and the table below is where that separation is visible as of September 16, 2026.
Every one of the 8,138,198 funded accounts sits in exactly one band as of September 16, 2026. The last two columns are the XRP those accounts controlled and what share of all XRP that came to, on the same date.

Bands read as at least the lower bound and below the upper one. Amounts count escrowed XRP alongside spendable balances, measured as of September 16, 2026.
Reading the numbers
The top 1% of funded XRP Ledger accounts held 92% of the XRP controlled across funded accounts as of September 16, 2026. The top 50% held over 99.9% as of September 16, 2026, which leaves the smaller half of accounts holding the rest. Those shares count escrowed XRP alongside spendable balances, and 31.85bn XRP of the total was locked in escrow as of September 16, 2026.
Concentration at the top of this list is not the same as concentration of ownership. The largest accounts on the XRP Ledger are mostly exchange and custodian wallets, and a single one of them can hold balances for millions of customers, which is why this page names an account only against evidence it can show beside the name.
Most funded accounts hold very little. Accounts holding under 1,000 XRP made up 85% of all funded accounts as of September 16, 2026, and together they held 0.43% of the XRP in funded accounts. That shape is why most people who check a balance against this list place higher than they expect.
Comparison
8,138,198 accounts were funded on the XRP Ledger as of September 16, 2026. Across the wrapped and staked XRP products tracked in the XRP yield ranking, 13,850 addresses held a position as of September 17, 2026, a figure equal to 0.17% of that XRPL account count.
The two figures count different objects and the comparison is a ratio rather than a share. An XRP Ledger account is an entry in the ledger’s own state. A tracked position is an address on Flare or Base holding a receipt token for wrapped or staked XRP, counted once per product, so a person holding two products appears twice. Both readings push the same way: the number of XRP holders with a balance doing anything at all is small next to the number of accounts that simply hold.
Every product in the XRP yield ranking is read on its own schedule, so the total is a sum of counts taken between July 25, 2026 and September 17, 2026 rather than all at one moment.
The XRP Ledger pays no protocol reward for holding a balance, and it has no validator staking, so a balance that sits on the ledger earns nothing by design rather than by neglect. The XRP yield ranking tracks where XRP-denominated rates actually come from.
Concentration
The 100 largest XRP Ledger accounts controlled 63.79% of all XRP as of September 16, 2026, and 49.56% once known exchange wallets are set aside.
An exchange wallet is thousands of customer balances pooled into one account, so counting it as concentration reads the ledger wrong. The second figure is the closer answer to how few hands hold XRP, and it is still only as complete as the 47 accounts named in this list as of September 16, 2026.
The headline share is also mostly one entity. Ripple itself controlled 12 of these accounts as of September 16, 2026, holding 34.04% of all XRP in funded accounts on that date, which is more than half of everything the top 100 held. Most of it cannot move: 30.70bn XRP of that position sat in onchain escrow as of September 16, 2026, released against a published schedule rather than sitting as a spendable balance.
Set every named group aside and 53 accounts are left, holding 11.78% of all XRP as of September 16, 2026. Those are the positions this page cannot attribute to anyone as of that date, and they are the part of the ranking where a reader learns something a headline share does not tell them. Each group can be filtered out of the ranking above, so the remainder reads on its own.
One more distinction worth keeping. The 12 founder accounts are personal balances attributed to people who co-founded Ripple, holding 3.73% of all XRP as of September 16, 2026. They are counted apart from the company because the company does not control them, and a total that merges the two overstates what Ripple holds by that margin.
The largest holding attributed to a person rather than to a company or a trading venue was 500,000,001 XRP, worth about $648,649,501 at 1.2973 US dollars per XRP as of September 16, 2026, at rank 31 in the list above.
Shares are of all XRP in funded accounts, spendable and escrowed together. An exchange wallet holds balances for many customers, so excluding those is the closer read on how concentrated ownership is.
Ownership
Ripple controlled 12 of the 500 largest XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026, holding 34% of all XRP in funded accounts.
The largest exchange holding XRP is UPbit, with 6.42bn XRP across 11 accounts as of September 16, 2026, ahead of every other custodial venue in this ranking.
The largest single account attributed to an individual rather than a company held 500.00M XRP as of September 16, 2026, at rank 31 in the list above.
| Exchange | XRP held | Ranked accounts | Percentage of XRP in funded accounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| UPbit | 6.42bn | 11 | 6.4% |
| Binance | 2.18bn | 4 | 2.2% |
| Bithumb | 1.83bn | 1 | 1.8% |
| Uphold | 1.46bn | 1 | 1.5% |
| bitbank | 576.66M | 1 | 0.58% |
Exchange accounts hold XRP for customers rather than for themselves, so a venue high in this list reflects how many people keep XRP there rather than what the venue owns. Names come from XRPSCAN rather than from this page, and only the 23 exchange accounts identified inside the 500 ranked accounts as of September 16, 2026 are counted.
Ownership
Ripple controlled 12 of the 500 largest XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026, holding 34.04bn XRP, which is 34% of all XRP in funded accounts.
Of that, 30.70bn XRP sat in onchain escrow as of September 16, 2026 and the remainder was spendable. Ripple also holds XRP in operational accounts that fall below the 500th rank as of September 16, 2026, so this is the ranked portion rather than Ripple's full position.
The percentage above is measured against all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026, not against the 100 billion units created when the ledger launched. Figures quoted elsewhere sometimes use the second denominator, which is why they run higher.
Named holder
Accounts attributed to Chris Larsen, Ripple’s co-founder and executive chairman, held 2,532,688,428 XRP as of September 16, 2026, worth about $3,285,654,165, across 6 accounts in the ranking above.
Larsen’s ranked accounts held 2.53% of all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026. The figure covers ranked accounts only, so any balance held further down the ledger is not in it, and the attribution comes from the label registry rather than from a claim this page makes about who controls a key.
Forbes put his total net worth at $11,500,000,000 as of August 1, 2026, which puts the XRP above at 29% of it as of September 16, 2026. That total is cited rather than measured. This page reads the XRP Ledger and nothing else, so the holding is ours and the net worth belongs to Forbes, who describe it as a real-time figure that moves with the market.
The denominator
99,985,615,537 XRP existed on the XRP Ledger as of September 16, 2026, read from the ledger’s own total supply field at ledger 107,017,319 rather than from a market tracker.
Market listings usually quote a circulating supply that leaves out the XRP locked in onchain escrow, because escrowed XRP cannot be sold until it is released. Both figures are below, along with the escrow they differ by, so the number a reader arrives with can be matched to a definition rather than guessed at.
| Measure | XRP | Share of total |
|---|---|---|
| Total supply on the ledger | 99,985,615,537 | 100% |
| Locked in onchain escrow | 31,845,088,616 | 31.85% |
| Circulating, escrow excluded | 68,140,526,921 | 68.15% |
| Destroyed by fees since launch | 14,384,463 | 0.01% |
XRP was created once, at launch in 2012, with 100,000,000,000 units and no way to make more. Every transaction destroys a small fee, so the total only falls, which is why the total on the ledger as of September 16, 2026 is 14,384,463 XRP below the amount that was created.
The 14,384,463 XRP gap is the total destroyed since launch as of September 16, 2026 and not a rate. A burn rate needs two measurements taken at different times, and this page reads one ledger, so it can state the amount gone and not how fast it is going.
The escrowed XRP sat in 14,572 escrow objects held by 1,691 accounts as of September 16, 2026, each with its own release date set onchain.
Summing every account balance read in the walk gives 99,985,527,981XRP against the ledger’s own total of 99,985,615,537 XRP as of September 16, 2026, a gap of 0.0001% that comes from XRP held in ledger objects other than accounts.
Earning on XRP
Holding XRP on the XRP Ledger pays nothing, so every rate on XRP-denominated capital is earned somewhere else. 13,850 addresses were already holding a wrapped or staked XRP product onchain as of September 17, 2026, across 14 products on Flare and Base. These are the four places that rate comes from.
Open the XRP yield reportThe most used of these was FXRP on Upshift, where 9,078 wallets held $36.5M at 1.61% as of September 17, 2026.
No venue in Harvest’s XRP yield ranking pays a native XRP staking rate, because the XRP Ledger does not offer one. Every rate in that ranking is read from the venue’s own contracts rather than from an aggregator.

What people ask about XRP holder counts and thresholds, answered from the September 16, 2026 ledger snapshot behind this page.
Yes, and it is also written as XRP richlist in one word, XRP rich-list with a hyphen, rich list XRP with the words reversed, or XRP rich list wallets. The XRP Ledger is public, so this page reads all 8,138,198 funded accounts from ledger 107,017,319, closed September 16, 2026 at 04:49 UTC, and ranks them by the XRP each one controls. How the walk and its histogram work, including the 0.1152% threshold resolution that applied on September 16, 2026, is set out in the method section further down this page.
Four times a day. The figures on this page come from ledger 107,017,319, which closed September 16, 2026 at 04:49 UTC, and the next walk replaces every number here with a reading from a later ledger. Nothing is averaged or carried over between runs: each update is one pass over every account in a single validated ledger, so the page always describes a state that existed rather than a blend of several.
A balance of 44,412 XRP put an account in the top 1% of funded XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026. That tier held 92% of all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026.
A balance of 2,121 XRP put an account in the top 10% of funded XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026, and that tier held 99.1% of all XRP in funded accounts on the same reading. The top 50% started far lower, at 20 XRP as of September 16, 2026, which is the gap that makes most holders rank higher than they expect.
4.2% of funded XRP Ledger accounts held at least 10,000 XRP as of September 16, 2026, which is 340,978 accounts out of 8,138,198. The count is tallied directly on every walk rather than read off the histogram, which is what makes it exact.
The list of the 500 largest XRP holders sits further down this page, ranked by the XRP each account controls as of September 16, 2026. Every row comes from ledger 107,017,319, closed September 16, 2026 at 04:49 UTC, rather than from a third-party index, and the accounts that could be identified are labelled with the exchange, company or person behind them. The remaining 8,137,698 funded accounts as of September 16, 2026 are not listed one by one, and the distribution chart above the list is where they are counted instead.
Nobody can say from ledger data alone. 8,138,198 XRP Ledger accounts were funded as of September 16, 2026, and that is a count of accounts rather than of people: one person can open many, and the 23 exchange accounts identified in this ranking held 14.23bn XRP as of September 16, 2026 for customers who have no account of their own. Estimates of 18 to 25 million owners worldwide, as circulated in 2026, combine ledger addresses with exchange customer counts, and neither input can be checked against the ledger.
8,138,198 XRP Ledger accounts were funded as of September 16, 2026, read from ledger 107,017,319. An account has to hold the base reserve to exist at all, so accounts emptied below it are not counted, and an address that never received XRP has no ledger entry to count.
No. An account is an entry on the XRP Ledger and a holder is a person or a company, and the two do not map one to one in either direction. One holder can control many accounts, which is why 12 of the 500 largest accounts as of September 16, 2026 belong to a single company, and one account can hold XRP for very many people, which is what an exchange account is.
Nobody can answer that for you, and nothing on this page is advice: the amount is a question about your own circumstances rather than about the ledger. What the ledger can tell you is where any amount places you: 44,412 XRP sat at the top 1% mark as of September 16, 2026, 2,121 XRP at the top 10% and 20 XRP at the top 50%. The calculator above places any balance against all 8,138,198 funded accounts as of September 16, 2026, without a wallet connection.
340,978 funded XRP Ledger accounts held at least 10,000 XRP as of September 16, 2026, out of 8,138,198 funded accounts in total. At the round balances either side of it, as of September 16, 2026: 1,168,179 accounts held at least 1,000 XRP, 184,683 held at least 20,000 XRP, 32,446 held at least 100,000 XRP, and 2,127 held at least 1,000,000 XRP. Every one of those counts is exact rather than read off the histogram.
8,138,198 accounts were funded on the XRP Ledger as of September 16, 2026. An account cannot exist on the ledger without meeting the base reserve, which validators lowered to 1 XRP in December 2024, so every account in that count holds a balance.
The largest single XRP Ledger account held 5.00bn XRP as of September 16, 2026, which is 5.0% of the XRP in funded accounts. Large accounts are usually exchange or custodian wallets holding balances for many customers rather than one owner, and this page names an account only against evidence it can show beside the name.
The top 1% of funded XRP Ledger accounts held 92% of the XRP in those accounts as of September 16, 2026. The top 50% held over 99.9% as of September 16, 2026, which means the lower half of accounts together held the remainder.
Ripple the company controlled 34,036,954,902 XRP as of September 16, 2026, worth about $44,156,107,557, across 12 accounts in the ranking on this page. That is 34.04% of all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026. Most of it cannot move: 30,700,000,000 XRP of that total sat in onchain escrow as of September 16, 2026, released on a schedule set in the ledger rather than held as a spendable balance. Wallets belonging to Ripple's co-founders are counted separately and are not in this figure.
UPbit held the most XRP of any exchange in this ranking as of September 16, 2026, with 6,416,912,690 XRP worth about $8,324,654,416 across 11 accounts. An exchange wallet holds balances for many customers at once, so a figure like this describes a venue's deposits rather than one owner's fortune. Known exchange wallets held 14,230,751,253 XRP between them as of September 16, 2026, across 23 of the ranked accounts.
99,985,615,537 XRP existed on the XRP Ledger as of September 16, 2026, read from the ledger's own total supply field rather than from a market tracker. Market listings usually quote a circulating supply that excludes XRP locked in onchain escrow, which was 31,845,088,616 XRP on that date, leaving 68,140,526,921 XRP circulating under that definition as of September 16, 2026.
14,384,463 XRP had been destroyed by transaction fees as of September 16, 2026, measured as the gap between the 100,000,000,000 XRP created at launch and the 99,985,615,537 XRP the ledger reported on that date. Every XRP Ledger transaction destroys a small fee and no mechanism creates new XRP, so the total only falls. That is the amount gone since launch rather than a burn rate: a rate needs two measurements at different times, and this page reads one ledger.
1,168,179 of the 8,138,198 funded XRP Ledger accounts held at least 1,000 XRP as of September 16, 2026, so a balance that size sat above 86% of them and was worth about $1,297 at 1.2973 US dollars per XRP on that date. Most accounts on the ledger hold very little, which is why a balance that feels small still places well up the distribution.
770,832 XRP was worth one million US dollars as of September 16, 2026, at 1.2973 dollars per XRP. About 2,653 funded XRP Ledger accounts held at least that much as of September 16, 2026, which is 0.03% of all funded accounts. The XRP figure moves with the price, so the balance needed changes daily even when nobody buys or sells.
Half of all funded XRP Ledger accounts held 20 XRP or less as of September 16, 2026, so that is the median balance. The mean sits far higher because a few accounts holding billions pull it up: 8,138,198 accounts shared 99.99bn XRP as of September 16, 2026. When a distribution is this skewed the median describes a typical holder and the mean does not.
The 100 largest XRP Ledger accounts held 63.79% of all XRP in funded accounts as of September 16, 2026. Taking known exchange wallets out of that leaves 49.56% as of the same date, which is the closer read on concentration, because an exchange wallet holds balances for many customers rather than for one owner.
Known exchange wallets in the top 100 held 14,230,751,253 XRP as of September 16, 2026, which is 14.23% of all XRP in funded accounts and worth about $18,461,539,370. That covers the 23 accounts this page could attribute to a venue as of September 16, 2026, so it is a floor rather than a total: an exchange wallet nobody has identified is counted as unnamed.
31,845,088,616 XRP sat in onchain escrow as of September 16, 2026, which is 31.85% of all XRP in funded accounts, held in 14,572 escrow objects across 1,691 accounts. Escrowed XRP cannot be spent until the release date written into the ledger, and this page counts it toward the balance of the account that owns it, because that is what the account controls.
13,850 addresses held a wrapped or staked XRP product across 14 tracked venues as of September 17, 2026, against 8,138,198 funded XRP Ledger accounts as of September 16, 2026. The two count different objects, so the comparison is a ratio rather than a share, and as of September 16, 2026 it works out at 0.17%. The XRP Ledger pays no protocol reward for holding a balance and has no validator staking, so a balance that sits there earns nothing by design.
There is no official threshold, so the honest answer is a distribution rather than a number. 2,139 of the 8,138,198 funded XRP Ledger accounts held 1,000,000 XRP or more as of September 16, 2026, which is 0.03% of them, and those accounts controlled 82% of all XRP on that date. Above them, 536 accounts held 10,000,000 XRP or more as of September 16, 2026. For a threshold that moves with the ledger rather than a round number, the top 1% of accounts started at 44,412 XRP as of September 16, 2026.
